Serena is a content developer, travel writer, and culinary expert bringing seven years experience to small and midsize organizations in various stages of development.

Her customized approach and broad range of skills are highly adaptable. Serena’s past projects have been with web products, tourism, farming and agri-tourism, fine dining, culinary businesses, food and wine, hospitality, and horticulture.

Serena’s in-depth explorations of the West Coast have resulted in a groundbreaking series of in-print travel guides, GrassRoutes Guides, a supporting blog, and content for Localite Tours, a foodie walking tour company.

She has degrees from Friends World College (now Global College) in International Studies and Journalism, and Long Island University, and has lived and traveled to over 25 countries. As a local travel and food expert she made regular appearances on the popular San Francisco-based television program Bay Area Backroads, in addition to View from the Bay, and other local programming in California, Portland, and Seattle. Known for championing the city of Oakland, she is the consummate authority on this soulful “town;” her two books about the East Bay have won many accolades.

She has created content for both online and print publications, including several mobile apps, Edible East Bay, Visit Oakland, Sonoma County Visitors Bureau, Bay Area Business Woman and more.
