Paintings

My mother is a watercolor painter and used to teach art, so I’ve been lucky to have a rich art education. I am most inspired by two very opposing ideas in art: the cultural collages of Joseph Cornell and the strict forms of Tibetan Buddhist Thankga painting. I also really love Odilon Redon, Mark Rothko, Louise Bourgeois, etc. etc. etc.

As I work I think I’ll continue to find a meeting place where my own true style emerges. Here are some recent paintings:

a painted pin-up, 2008
